What It Is, What It’s Not

CineTouch is advanced residential entertainment and home management software for AMX hardware, available to integrators for professional installation. CineTouch is a feature-rich and high-end product designed to be configured in as little as an hour by the dealer, using NO PROGRAMMING, NO COMPILING CODE, and NO TOUCH PANEL DESIGN OR EDITING.Compared to custom programming, CineTouch costs less, does more, installs the same day, and looks great.

CineTouch is NOT a “custom program”. Every CineTouch installation uses the same AMX system code and touch panel projects, operating on an onboard relational database. Systems differ only in the data that defines the equipment, wiring, and feature set that is unique to the site. Behavior and appearance are determined in real time by the relational data, not by customized code. This provides dramatically increased reliability and flexibility. Interoperability is built in at a subsystem component level. Systems set up and run in as little as an hour and reconfigure anytime just as quickly, without code or panel changes. No programming is ever required. When upgraded features become available in new core software, all systems can use it, often without changes to their database.

CineTouch is NOT a “template”. Every system can be unique, and yet every system will operate, service, and upgrade the same way. Any combination of rooms, theaters, panels, sources, and system devices can be configured without pre-built limitations on scale. Up to 50 rooms of any type will all work together as a unit. You choose the devices and how they are to be used in every system in straightforward web browser forms.

CineTouch has a unique CENTRAL INTELLIGENCE. Every action and status is noted and coordinated. As sources, rooms, and various controlled devices are shared or adjusted by users or timed events, every panel and user is updated with accurate, synchronized views of exactly what they need to see. Interaction is managed, conflict avoided automatically, and users are advised when their actions will affect another user. Every part of the system becomes a full participant in an organic whole. By comparison, most control systems are essentially independent universal remotes in the form of touch panels, each blind to the events occurring at any other location.

CineTouch LEARNS and adapts to you as you use it. Unique user personalization is updated in real-time as individuals use the system. Hundreds of individual preferences, permissions, favorite channels, and behavior choices are learned and managed automatically, creating a uniquely tuned user experience that includes personal content, appearance, and technical complexity. Finally, everyone in the home – and guests too – can have their own user experience that intelligently adjusts and grows with them across time.

CineTouch reconfigures functionality, appearance, and preferences right from the touch panels on a running system. Over 100 option button locations can be set and re-set on the fly anytime by the dealer or even by the customer if preferred. Each panel can have a unique set of buttons and functions that suits the room, and because the customer decides the function and location, it’s never a clutter – it’s a choice. Every choice is registered in the CineTouch relational database, and can be retrieved or managed remotely on the Internet.

CineTouch has high-end feature integration that combines and makes more of all of your controlled devices. Home theater, multiroom audio and video, HVAC, lighting, security, cameras, weather, internet information and images, pool and spa, shades, gates, anything and everything all come together seamlessly and interactively, with a user interface that works the same for every device. No treasure hunts for buttons, no islands of isolated control, no operational differences from mixed-vendor modules. Every control is in the same place and works the same way for every device, even if the actual device would have done it differently. With CineTouch, you “select content” instead of “operate equipment”.

CineTouch supports hundreds of AMX and other brand components, and has an open architecture for dealer-added drivers and a community driver exchange. Both current and legacy devices are supported, making it possible to retrofit and upgrade aged systems – even previously non-AMX systems - without replacing most of the hardware.
